OBEDIENCE FOUNDATIONS

25 DAYS - £2500

Freedom to finally enjoy walks with your dog. This 25-day Residential Training package focuses on building strong foundations through multiple structured training sessions each day across a variety of environments. As standard, your dog will return home with ‘the big three’ foundational skills:

Reliable Recall

Loose Lead Walking

Down Stay

Your dog will be fully e-collar trained and able to work confidently both on and off lead, including around distractions and in a range of real-world environments. We also introduce place training (settling calmly on a bed or designated spot), which is an invaluable skill for encouraging calm behaviour both at home and out in public.

Every residential programme ends with an in-depth handover session where we walk you through everything your dog has been taught and show you exactly how to continue it at home. You’ll also receive a personalised training plan to help you maintain progress and keep things clear and consistent once you’re back in your own environment. Ongoing support is included too - with lifetime WhatsApp support once your dog returns home, plus 2 free follow-up sessions within 6 months to make sure everything is staying on track.

This package is ideal for dogs needing general obedience training, improved engagement outdoors, or support with prey drive and overexcitement on walks. The focus is on creating clarity, structure and reliable communication so you can enjoy more freedom and confidence with your dog day to day.

Every dog is different, so an assessment session is required to recommend the most suitable training package. It’s also a chance for us to meet, discuss your goals, and talk through any questions or concerns you may have.

Monty.png

Nicole & Monty

We started 1:1 sessions with Jess for Monty’s people and dog reactivity after spending thousands of pounds on various dog trainers and a clinical behaviourist. Though we saw improvements, we struggled to put ourselves into the scary situations Monty needed to progress further, so opted for residential training. After years of waking up at the crack of dawn to avoid everyone, and scheduling our lives around Monty and his needs, we are now free! Monty is off lead enjoying running around and sniffing doing spaniel stuff, he auto recalls from people and dogs, heels nicely wherever and he is now more able to cope with being rushed by rude dogs. Our lives have changed monumentally, we can have lie ins, we can enjoy new walks and finally invite family and friends to come along...the transformation is amazing!!

Lisa & Claude

Claude stayed with Jess for a 5 week residential to work on some challenging reactivity issues particularly around dogs, traffic, and general overstimulation inside the house. Before the training, walking him was incredibly stressful. He would pull constantly on the lead, and walks were tense for both him and us as he would be so on edge anticipating a reaction. Since returning home, the change in him has been incredible. He’s noticeably calmer, more relaxed around the house, and no longer on edge all the time. We can now enjoy walks together in local parks, the forest, and even the beach, places we never thought he’d be able to handle. The residential has completely changed not only Claude’s life, but ours as well. We feel more connected, more confident, and so much more at ease in our daily routines. Sending him to Jess was honestly the best decision we could have made for him and for ourselves. Thank you so much, Jess. We are so grateful for everything you've done. We highly, highly recommend your training to anyone considering a residential program!

Jax.jpg

Lucy & Jax

We decided to send Jax for residential training to address his constant pulling on the lead, lack of recall, and mischievous behaviour. Walks had become very stressful and unenjoyable, with ongoing concerns for his safety, and he was becoming increasingly overstimulated at home. The transformation has been incredible. Jax now has the freedom to enjoy his walks with confident recall, and he willingly shares his ball so we can play together. Jess also introduced him to scent work, which has been fantastic for keeping him occupied at home, and as a family we’re excited to continue building on this. Since Jax has been home, our relationship feels stronger than ever. From day one, Jess has been incredibly supportive, always answering our worries and concerns promptly and professionally. She also provided much-needed emotional support to me as a very anxious dog owner. Thank you so much Jess, for everything you’ve done for us and especially Jax

Mabel.png

Sonia & Mabel

I reached out to Jess for support with our 5 year old Vizsla Girl Mabel. Mabel had been dog reactive for around 2 years (although thinking back it had probably been longer than that). Although she was never one to actively seek out other dogs, she just couldn’t cope when they came uninvited into her space. She didn’t know what to do or how to cope which would then result in reactivity. I had been working on this with Mabel prior to the residential and she had come on well, but we were still relying on her muzzle for safety off lead and her figure of 8 for on-lead walks and she just wasn’t living the full life I wanted for her. Jess took the time to really listen to the issues we were having, providing reassurance and clarity about the residential process and the space to decide if it was the right thing for us. It turns out was the best decision we could have ever made, and we couldn’t be more thankful. Mabel has made incredible progress, she’s managed more in the weeks since the residential than I ever thought could be possible. She is so much less stressed, more confident, happy go lucky and just generally a pleasure to walk. Jess has also supported us as owners so well too (If you have had a reactive dog you will know that unlearning your own reactions is half the issue!) Jess is always happy to help and the follow up care has been exceptional. Today we went for a walk in the woods where the car park was so busy I would have previously driven straight home. Mabel managed so many dogs without issue, no muzzle, no lead, just calm. If you are thinking about reaching out to Jess for support, my advice would be, do it, do it right now so you don’t miss out on anymore time with your dog being the very best version of themselves. Huge huge thanks to you Jess, you have helped us give Mabel the future she deserves.

RESIDENTIAL TRAINING FAQs

  • A residential assessment allows me to observe your dog’s current behaviour and determine whether residential training is the right fit. There’s no need for any specific preparation beforehand. During the assessment, we’ll discuss your goals and what you hope to achieve, so it can be helpful to bring a list of topics or concerns you'd like to cover.

  • Assessment sessions are 1 hour long.

  • Every residential programme is tailored to the individual dog, their behaviour, and your goals. Training typically focuses on creating calm, reliable behaviour both on and off lead in real-world environments. Depending on your dog’s needs and length of stay, this may include:

    - Loose lead walking
    - Reliable recall and off-lead freedom
    - Off-lead heel work
    - Down stays and place training
    - Improved engagement and responsiveness
    - Confidence and neutrality around people and dogs

For dogs struggling with behavioural challenges such as dog or human reactivity, training will focus on building better coping skills, clearer communication, and more reliable behaviour around triggers.

Where appropriate, e-collar training may be introduced to support safe, reliable off-lead freedom. All training is fully discussed with owners beforehand and tailored to the individual dog.

  • At the end of your dog’s Residential Training stay, you’ll take part in a comprehensive handover session. During this time, I’ll walk you through the tools, methods, and routines we've used so you can confidently continue the training at home. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with your dog in various real-life scenarios, with my full support and guidance every step of the way.

  • Residential training lays solid foundations. Your dog will need consistent follow-through at home to maintain and strengthen what they’ve learned. You will be given clear guidance on this during your handover.

  • Residential Training programmes range from 25-40 days depending on the dog’s needs and the complexity of the behaviours being addressed. Please see packages above.

  • I am based in Southampton, Hampshire. Residential assessments take place in local green spaces or other environments to ensure I can see your dog in real-world scenarios.

  • The minimum age for Residential Training is 8 months old. There is no upper age limit assuming your dog is fit and healthy.
